Who we are

Tuxedo Gallery has a proud heritage that dates back to the early 1980s. What began around 1984 as Wagner’s Formal Wear quickly became a trusted name for formalwear rentals and sales in the Spokane region. By the mid-1990s, local businessman Gene Slatter purchased the company, cementing its commitment to quality service and community roots.

Through the years, the business evolved and rebranded as Tuxedo Gallery in 1998, carrying forward the legacy of exceptional formalwear with a modern touch. Our focus has always been on personalized service, helping customers look their best for weddings, proms, and black-tie events.

Today, all of our energy is centered in downtown Spokane, allowing us to provide an even more dedicated and specialized experience for every client who walks through our doors.

In November 2025, Tuxedo Gallery began an exciting new chapter as a women-owned business under the leadership of Kathy Castillo. With our proud slogan, “Women Owned, Made for Men,” we continue to honor our legacy while embracing a fresh perspective on style, service, and community connection.

    Whenever I need to rent or buy formal wear this is my go to for many reasons but the big ones are the level of care for the customer, inventory, genuine opinions, and whenever I have a party to throw for my employees or have a special guys night downtown speakeasy style. Don’t forget to ask them about seeing the Black Tie Room!!!

    The Tuxedo Gallery is truly a one-of-a-kind shop. When my fiancé and I were still figuring out our color scheme, they helped us brainstorm. When we nailed down a color for my groomsmen, they reached out to other shops as they didn’t carry them in store and called me in to check them out in person once they got them.

    I’ve now worked with Tuxedo Gallery through two weddings - my own and as a groomsmen for a friend of mine. Their prices are affordable and all inclusive, they are so knowledgeable, and the whole staff is a genuine pleasure to work with. I truly can’t say enough good things about them! 10/10 best suit shop in Spokane!
